What does it look like to lead from a place of genuine self-knowledge?
B Kyle, CEO and President of the St. Paul Area Chamber, sat down with Kathy Robideau and Chris Dardis on Unscripted with Versique and put it plainly: "You have to know who you are and communicate that because you will fail at pretending to be someone that you want, even if you want to be that person."
B Kyle's path to that kind of clarity was anything but straight. She grew up as the fourth of eight children in St. Paul, attended eight different schools, earned a music scholarship to the College of St. Benedict, and became the top-ranked officer candidate in her ROTC class, choosing West Germany as her first duty station and serving through the fall of the Berlin Wall. After leaving the military and starting over as a single mother in 1995, she worked her way through manufacturing, telecom, and financial services before eventually leading the St. Paul Area Chamber for the past nine years.
Today, B Kyle is focused on the future of the region, including an active merger conversation with the Minneapolis Regional Chamber and a vision for a unified Twin Cities business community that is inclusive, measurable, and built for the next generation.
It is a conversation about reinvention, open hands, and why leaders eat last.
