🚨 CREW MEMBER DIES ABOARD MSC EURIBIA — FAMILY STILL SEEKING ANSWERS
A 21-year-old crew member, Laeeq Adams, died in October 2025 while working as an assistant waiter aboard the MSC Euribia.
Nearly a year later, his mother, Zenith Adams of Durban, South Africa, says she is still searching for answers about what happened to her son.
Laeeq had been looking forward to returning home and celebrating his 21st birthday with his family.
Instead, his family had to prepare for his funeral.
According to MSC, Laeeq experienced a sudden deterioration followed by cardiac arrest, and the ship’s medical team attempted to resuscitate him.
However, information provided by the family raises additional questions about the response to his medical emergency. According to the family’s account, the ship’s medical team was contacted three times through the onboard emergency system (911) while Laeeq was reportedly experiencing difficulty breathing. The family questions whether there was a delay in the medical response and whether he received timely medical assistance during the critical period before his condition deteriorated further.
These circumstances make the emergency timeline particularly important, including when the calls were made, when medical personnel arrived, what treatment was provided, and who was present during the response.
But his mother says important questions remain unanswered:
âť“ When did the ship's medical team examine Laeeq?
âť“ What treatment did he receive?
âť“ Who was present during the emergency?
âť“ What happened during the hours before his death?
âť“ Where exactly did he die, and why does the death certificate reference Maydon Wharf?
She says she wants the medical records and a clear explanation of the circumstances surrounding her son's death.
At Crew Justice Law Firm, we believe crew members and their families deserve to understand what happens when a serious medical emergency or death occurs at sea.
