Attempted Murder Arrest
200 Block of East Red Oak Street

MEMPHIS, TN – On November 8, 2024, at 5:39 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 200 block of East Red Oaks Street. Officers were advised that Rickey Hines was working security in the complex. A male attempted to enter the complex and was identified. Security found the male to have warrants and attempted to detain him when he drove off. Video in the complex showed Hines firing shots at the victim as he exited the complex and as he drove down the street. The victim was struck and transported to Regional One Hospital in critical condition. He was released and transported to 201 Poplar Avenue for his warrants.

Rickey Hines Jr, 30, was charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Dangerous Felony, and Vandalism of Property $2,500-$10,000.
