Ag Ventures Alliance’s own Loran Steinlage is featured by the Walton Family Foundation for his work with relay cropping and the impact it can have far beyond a single farm.

From building healthier soils and holding more water to creating new opportunities for farm profitability, Loran is helping demonstrate what’s possible when farmers combine generations of knowledge with new ideas.

As Loran puts it:

“If we can produce more food with the same amount of moisture while protecting our neighbors downstream, what could these practices mean in a global system?”

Meet Ag Ventures Alliance member Ryan Dierking, Director of Rangelands for EarthOptics and part of the family behind Idle Wind Farm in Missouri.

Ryan brings a passion for agriculture, innovation and land stewardship — from testing emerging ag technologies to using virtual fencing, precision soil management and adaptive grazing on the family operation.

“I enjoy learning, testing new ideas and providing feedback that can make products more useful and
durable,” Ryan said. “Ag Ventures Alliance brings together people who are willing to try new things, find
where they work, discover where they break and determine whether they solve a real problem."
