Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 562 represents approximately 4500 members who serve the plumbing and mechanical industry in 67 counties in Eastern Missouri. Our membership offers a wide array of plumbing and mechanical skills that are valued throughout the construction industry, and work daily through the employment of our signatory contractors to provide consumers and the public with the safest, most highly trained, productive workforce in the region.

That’s a wrap on the United Association 41st General Convention! We are so proud of the UA leadership for their next term. Congratulations General President, Mark McManus, General Secretary Treasurer, Derrick Kualapai, Assistant General President, Mike Pleasant and all the UA Officers!!

It was such an amazing week filled with excitement, growth, education, forward thinking, support, and brother and sisterhood. We were honored to have 49 delegates represent Local 562 all week.

Two of our very own represented Local 562 on different committees:

Business Manager/Secretary Treasurer, John O’Mara, Chairman of the By Laws Committee
Business Representative & President, Dick Kellett, Sargent of Arms

These two got took their roles seriously and represented our Local by showing professionalism and respect to all those around them.

BM O’Mara spoke in front of the delegation every day but Friday and was honored to be the Chairman of the Laws Committee.

We are so proud of our representation all week and cannot wait to see what they bring back and instill in their day to day work. It’s a lot of information in a week’s time and a lot of new items learned but now it’s time to take that knowledge and bring it back home.

Congratulations to 4 of our brother members who attended ITP last week! We had 3 instructors graduate, Bryan, Tim, and Jeff and one apprentice, Montana compete against apprentices from all over.

We are so proud of all the hard work that goes into being an instructor and we are so thankful the United Association host such a neat and challenging event each year. Congratulations to our newest graduates!!

Montana was our first ever apprentice to represent Local 562 at ITP apprentice contest and we are so proud of him. The pressure that this event brings is like nothing you can describe until you are in it. Montana, thank you for representing our Local in such a professional manor, thanks for never giving up, and just know how proud Local 562 is of you!

Congratulations to our 2026 Champions graduates!

Last week these 14 men and women completed their six week program and are headed to their new employers this week. Thank you to the MCA for the partnership. This program cannot go on without our contractors!

These men and women learned a lot over these six weeks and it’s just the beginning of something very bright ahead. Our instructors took the time to make sure they were ready for this week, were prepared for real life situations, and instilled the importance of education.

We are proud of all our graduates and we hope to see you all using all the tools you were just taught to make a career out of 562!

Congratulations to our newest graduating class!

Earlier this week we had our largest ever graduating apprentice class. This class has a bright future ahead. Nearly 170 graduates that spent the last 5/6 years learning, growing, making 562 stronger, and spending countless hours making sure they were ready for this next chapter of their careers. We are proud of these men and women and can’t wait to see what they bring to the table the next 5 to 10 years and beyond.

Summer’s been busy! 80 new members just got initiated into our local tonight and we are so excited for their futures! BM O’Mara always has each new member say a little something about why they wanted to be a member, tonight’s answers all showed a lot of pride in just a few short months. Keep working hard, keep training, stay involved and that pride will never go away 🫶🏻

Thank you Local 392 for hosting the 47th Annual Softball Tournament! Not the outcome we hoped for but memories were made and we had a great time with everyone.

Thanks to our coaches & players for representing Local 562, it was a wet weekend but everyone had a great attitude through all the changes!
