Hiring & Staff Services is now hiring a temporary Legal Associate to work with a government client, handling the correspondence of legal governmental hearings. This position has the possibility of a permanent job offer at a later date depending on performance.

PAY AND HOURS
• $14/hr
• Full-time, 40 hr/week, M-F, 8am-4:30pm
• Location: Downtown Madison 53703, East Washington Ave

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assess, analyze and take the appropriate action on hearing applications and other submitted documents to open or re-open cases in ICMS, determine issues, length of time for hearings, necessary parties, etc.
• Review and determine appropriate document types, create and place documents in KTA workflow for processing and service of hearing applications and amended applications.
• Work on reviewing and processing the litigated mail/litigated verification electronic workflows.
• Receive and process answers to hearing applications, amended applications, and retainer letters from attorneys, and make appropriate entries in ICMS.
• Create hardcopy files as needed for linked cases including photo and exhibits.
• Process and serve on the appropriate parties hearing applications and amended applications within 30 days of receipt, or as soon as reasonably possible, along with other necessary documents to be associated with the claim.
• Address and process returned forms including JU01 and JU09 notices.
• Maintain communications with the parties to obtain necessary information for processing and serving hearing applications and amended applications.
