Talk about a full circle moment! 10 years ago, I had the opportunity to enlist Julia Benson into the Illinois Army National Guard, and now I get to see her during my physical as she finishes up medical school this coming May. It’s awesome to see how far she’s come and what she’s accomplishing. Moments like this remind me why I love what I do. Proud to have been a small part of her journey and excited to see what’s next for her!

🇺🇸 HELPING HIM TURN HIS GOALS INTO REALITY

Big congratulations to .wy21 ! 🎉 Currently a senior at Jefferson High School while participating in the Running Start program at Rock Valley College, he’s already taking steps to build a strong future for himself.

I’m grateful he trusted me to guide him through the enlistment process and help him navigate the steps along the way. He knew what he wanted, stayed determined throughout the process, and we were able to make it happen!

Being able to help young men and women turn their goals into opportunities is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. I’m proud to have been part of his journey and look forward to seeing everything he accomplishes moving forward.

Congratulations on taking this next step toward your future! 🇺🇸💪

🔥 WHEN THE OPPORTUNITY CAME, SHE WAS READY. 🔥

She had to jump through more than a few hurdles to get here, but she stayed patient, kept working toward the goal, and waited for her opportunity.

That opportunity came today — and Maria Montoya jumped on it. 🇺🇸

Today she raised her right hand and officially joined the Illinois Army National Guard!

Congratulations and welcome to the team! The journey was worth it. 💪

Highlights from this past drill weekend.

We had the opportunity to recognize two of my Soldiers as they reached important milestones in their Army journey.

After overcoming obstacle after obstacle, we finally got it done! 💪🇺🇸

It’s never too late to chase a new challenge, serve your country, and invest in your future. A few days ago, we welcomed our newest Soldier Joseph Ziriaxe as a 25U Signal Support Systems Specialist with a $10,000 enlistment bonus! 💰📡

Proof that when you stay committed and don’t give up, the mission can still be accomplished. Never too late. 🇺🇸

It’s been a minute… but we’re back at it. 🇺🇸

Today I had the privilege of enlisting two outstanding individuals who have chosen to answer the call to serve.
03.gan is someone I’ve known personally, which made today even more meaningful. Watching someone you know make the commitment to serve their state and country is something special. He enlisted as an 11B Infantryman, and I can’t wait to see what he accomplishes.

is a dedicated JROTC cadet from Auburn High School who enlisted as a 19D Cavalry Scout. He already has his sights set on the future, with plans to participate in ROTC and earn a commission as an Army officer. It’s always exciting to see someone with a clear vision for the future and the drive to make it happen.

Congratulations to both of you on taking this first step. Thank you for trusting me to be part of your journey. Stay focused, stay humble, and never lose sight of why you started.

Welcome to the Illinois Army National Guard! 🇺🇸
