Kevin Costner, born in California in 1955, is known for his roles in some of the most iconic films of the late 20th century. He gained prominence with The Untouchables (1987) and Bull Durham (1988), but it was Dances with Wolves (1990), which he directed and starred in, that solidified his status as a Hollywood heavyweight. The film won seven Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Director, showcasing Costner’s talent behind the camera as well as in front of it.
