The Rosaline L. Zukerman Women’s Empowerment Award recognizes a trailblazing woman who exemplifies strong leadership and service to others. Caroline is one of three featured honorees at this year's event, which raises awareness and critical funding for JVS SoCal’s programs.

Caroline is a Los Angeles–based media personality, entrepreneur, podcast host, and forthcoming author who has built a thriving platform reaching millions of women worldwide. Known for her signature jewelry stacks, attainable style, and empowering message of confidence and reinvention, Caroline encourages women to stop waiting for permission and start showing up for themselves.

Our CEO, Jeff Carr, speaks out in Capitol Weekly to call for community-oriented standards for AI data centers. As a leader in workforce development, it is essential that new technologies give our communities new infrastructure, new opportunities, and new prosperity.

At once, it's nothing new: "We already tie major infrastructure investments to local hiring, apprenticeships and workforce development. We should bring those same expectations to the data centers powering the AI economy."

Meet Roberto Figueroa — Army veteran, National Guard patient administration specialist, and now a rising star in healthcare imaging.

After a decade of service and years helping others find career paths, Roberto set his sights on a new one: healthcare. Out of 500+ applicants, he earned a spot in JVS SoCal's ImagingWorks program, learning everything from patient services to MRI and bone density — all while getting paid, with zero cost for training or certifications.

"It has changed my life drastically," Roberto says. "Now I see more challenges ahead of me… and more opportunities. I just keep my chin up, don't look back, and keep moving forward."

JVS SoCal is proud to operate several job & career centers throughout Greater Los Angeles. L.A. County’s America’s Job Centers of California (AJCCs) and L.A. City’s WorkSource California Centers form a network of workforce experts that leverage funding and resources across the region to job seekers and local businesses.

We provide provide no-cost, personalized support to job seekers including job training, resume and interview coaching, career guidance, and customized job matching through CalJOBS. Our comprehensive employment and training services are offered to job seekers at no cost. We offer to the public a resource center with access to computers, fax machines, copiers, and telephones. We also provide access to computers, phones, and skills workshops. Services are available in multiple languages to serve Los Angeles’ diverse communities. Catherine Cañar spent 7 years climbing the ranks at Ecuador's largest bank before moving to Southern California for love — only to find she'd have to start her career over from scratch.

She took retail jobs while searching for a way back into banking. Then someone told her about JVS SoCal's BankWork$ program.

"The program helped me remember who I am," Catherine says. "It helped me show my skills and my background and say, 'This is who I am.'"

Today, she's a Service Specialist at Citizens Business Bank.

US Army veteran Frank Uriostegui shares his journey in Stars and Stripes - when he was struggling during transition back to civilian life, he reached out for help. We are proud to have been part of helping him transition back to stability and grateful that he recognized he didn't need to do it alone.

When I left the military, I assumed my skills would translate into a career. Instead, I found myself caught in between.
