L.A. County America's Job Centers of California (AJCCs)can help you qualify for State and Federal tax credits available to L.A. County employers who hire individuals who face barriers to employment.

Worker Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) and Targeted Jobs Tax Credit (TJTC) are workforce tax credits that incentivizes workplace diversity and access to good jobs for all L.A. County residents.

Homeless Hiring Tax Credit (HHTC) is a workforce tax credit available for taxable years January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2026. Incentivizes employers to hire individuals experiencing homelessness.

🚀 AI Champions Program is officially underway!

This Monday, we kicked off the very first session of our AI Champions Program at JVS SoCal.

The program brings together a small cohort of 15–25 team members from across the organization who will spend the next year exploring how AI can help us work smarter while staying true to our mission and values.

Our AI Champions will:
✨ Learn about AI tools and evaluate how they can support our teams
✨ Represent the voices and needs of their colleagues as we shape AI adoption across the organization
✨ Identify opportunities where AI can reduce administrative workload and create more time for serving people
✨ Share insights, lessons learned, and best practices with the broader JVS SoCal community

The journey begins with a full-day kickoff, followed by regular collaborative sessions and hands-on learning throughout the year.

We’re excited to see this group lead the way in building a thoughtful, responsible, and people-centered approach to AI at JVS SoCal. Here’s to year of learning, innovation, and impact! 🚀🤖

Do you enjoy caring for others? Are you compassionate and empathetic? Amplify these special traits and turn them into a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Assisted Living Aide. This free, intensive 8-week job training program can be life-changing for you like it has for so many of those who have gone through it before you. We will prepare you with the fundamental knowledge to work in the rapidly growing and rewarding healthcare and senior care industries. The program partners with Southern California’s leading healthcare and senior care providers to provide job placement and career advancement support.

Before joining JVS’s ApartmentWorks program, Jose Moreno had already gained some experience in maintenance. He previously worked at Daiso, a retail store, assisting his supervisor with various facility maintenance tasks.

Jose learned a great deal from his former supervisor, who was certified in both HVAC and electrical work. However, after his supervisor left the company, Jose began searching for new opportunities that would provide him with hands-on training and a pathway into electrical or HVAC work.
