We’re shaping the future of television by leading important industry conversations through thought-provoking panels, hands-on internships, and real opportunities for the next wave of professionals to grow. Established in 1959 as the charitable arm of the Television Academy, the Foundation has nurtured thousands of talented

students, providing essential resources that help them discover their voices, refine their skills and forge rewarding careers in every sector of the television industry. Foundation alumni include prominent writers, producers, documentarians, creative executives, network presidents, and more. The Foundation prepares leaders and storytellers through our preeminent programs:

Our Internship Program annually provides 50 students from across the nation with hands-on work experience, mentorships, and opportunities for accelerated career development in more than 30 categories. The Media Educators Conference brings 100+ college educators from across the country to Los Angeles for a multi-day immersive event that provides invaluable information on how professors can connect the classroom with the television industry. The College Television Awards recognize and reward excellence in student-produced television from colleges and universities across the country, providing both recognition and professional development opportunities for winners and nominees. The Interviews: An Oral History of Television preserves the history of television through oral histories and provides an invaluable research platform to students, professionals, teachers, and the public at large. The Power of TV inspires both industry professionals and the public with panel discussions that celebrate the power of television to inspire social change. Access: Behind the Screens is the Television Academy Foundation's free master class offering behind-the-scenes access to the television industry.
