Youth Employment Network (YEN) is a collaboration of grants (Transition Partnership Program, Workability, CaPROMISE) funded through various agencies to increase self-sufficiency of youth through employment, education and training related services. YEN focuses on helping high school juniors and seniors and exited students up to 2 years after graduation learn the skills and gain the experience to ma

ke a successful transition from school to work. The YEN staff helps by:
1) Identifying students' vocational interests, goals and work/volunteer experience.
2) Preparing students with pre-employment workshops and the individualized employment coaching that is crucial to employee success and employer satisfaction

Through Long Beach Unified School District's Career Readiness Modules, the Youth Employment Network also teaches the importance of:

* Career Planning
* Ethics and Legal Responsibility
* Responsibility and Flexibility
* Problem Solving and Critical Thinking
* Leadership and Teamwork

Wilson High School had a blast on Day 2 of our Ross Dress for Success/Mobility Training field trip! Next up... !

In preparation for upcoming job interviews and mock interviews, the Transition Partnership Program (TPP) and the Department of Rehabilitation organize a field trip to Ross Dress for Less for all of our students in need of interview clothing.

On this day, the students will be accompanied by TPP staff and gain mobility training by traveling to and from Long Beach city bus. With the assistance of TPP Staff, students will play an active role in selecting clothing that will reinforce the importance of "Dressing for Success."
