Meet Nadia🤍
What inspired you to pursue pharmacy? 💊
"Born in Iraq during sanctions where kids were dying from preventable illnesses due to limited access to meds. That’s when I knew I wanted to be part of a patient-first community. Years later, diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, my passion deepened. I understood patient struggles firsthand and wanted to offer comfort, advocacy, and impact. Pharmacists are the most accessible healthcare professionals, and I knew that’s where I belonged."
What’s been your favorite class or rotation? 📚
"I truly enjoyed every rotation, but my time at the FDA’s Division of Drug Information was unforgettable. It showed me pharmacy from a new lens, both the regulatory side and a unique patient population. The biggest takeaway? We often forget to truly listen. That experience was a powerful reminder of how impactful active listening can be in our profession."
What’s been the most rewarding part of pharmacy school? 🙌🏻
"Pharmacy school overall was a rewarding experience. Some of my fulfilling moments include: founding IPhO chapter, creating an umbrella org with AMCP to guide students in non-traditional paths, and receiving the USPHS Excellence in Public Health Pharmacy Award, Belmont Graduate Student Leadership Award, and AMCP/IPhO Student of the Year Award, later renamed after me in recognition of my work. Among many other moments."
"Wishing you all the best and can’t wait to see you become impactful pharmacists in your communities and beyond!"
