Job Alert: Fish & Wildlife Biologist II
Help protect Nebraska’s wildlife and manage some of the state’s most important natural areas. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is hiring a Fish & Wildlife Biologist II in Norfolk to oversee wildlife management areas, support conservation projects, conduct wildlife surveys, and help develop management strategies for fish and wildlife populations.
In this role, you will:
✔ Administer and coordinate management activities for 17 State Wildlife Management Areas within the assigned area
✔ Coordinate land management activities, agricultural leases, contracts, federal farm program requirements, and other related documentation
✔ Collaborate with Nebraska Game and Parks Commission divisions, Natural Resources Districts, and federal agencies on wildlife management and conservation efforts
✔ Assist with wildlife surveys, inventories, disease control, animal damage control, wildlife propagation, and research projects
✔ Help develop recommendations for hunting seasons, bag limits, and other regulations based on wildlife population data and field observations
✔ Supervise permanent and seasonal employees while managing budgets and monitoring expenditures for assigned areas
✔ Maintain wildlife management areas by overseeing noxious w**d control, boundary fences, facilities, and other land management needs

💲 Pay: $25.566/hour
