The Academies of Lexington

The Academies of Lexington At The Academies of Lexington, we're doing education differently by making today's high school experience as engaging and immersive as the world around us.

The Academies of Lexington are small learning communities within Fayette County public high schools that allow students to connect what they’re learning in the classroom with real-world applications. The Academies of Lexington provide a connection between the classroom and the real world, offering high school students a new type of educational experience—one which allows them to explore a field of

study that truly interests them. Academy students thrive in small learning communities focused on in-demand career pathways, among teachers and peers who know and cultivate their strengths. Graduating with more than a diploma, Academy students can receive recognized industry certifications that demonstrate their career and life-readiness, as well as experience authentic, work-based learning which enables them to develop technical and employability skills. Frederick Douglass, Bryan Station and Tates Creek are the first high schools in Lexington to join The Academies of Lexington movement—the initiative that's truly preparing students for life, college and careers.
