NOVA Community College is helping unemployed federal workers and federal contractors quickly and effectively transition their talents to new careers through a new partnership called NOVAnext. Free of charge to eligible participants, the initiative enables workers to explore how their skills and experience can match in-demand jobs available in the region or gain the skills needed to start an enterprise.

This could be a great resource for displaced federal workers to find their next career opportunity with the help of NOVAnext and their collaborating partners. Please check this out! An important part of our program are the workshops: Interviewing Skills, Conflict Resolution, and Eyes-on-the-Prize/Setting SMART goals. New applicants are required to attend, to learn or review essential soft skills, tips and important information on how to get and keep a job. Our workshops are offered in English & Spanish every other week by our trained (and amazing) volunteers!

Thank you to Loudoun Youth, Inc. for inviting us to share our Conflict Resolution workshop with the Community Builders. What an amazing group of students! Lots of good stories and questions about potential causes of conflict in the workplace and how to effectively diffuse and resolve the situation. Conflict Resolution is one of the topics we teach in our workshops at Crossroads Jobs: getting and keeping a job!! Kudos to our future leaders!
