What's your favorite thing about moving to Chicago?
- My favorite thing about moving to Chicago is that I'm meeting so many new people and getting to explore different areas of the city!

What did you do prior to Advantage Tech?
- I just graduated from the University of Arizona in May with a Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
- 12 oz. filet mignon cooked medium with a side of au gratin potatoes and a Caesar salad.

What is your current position and what do you enjoy most about Advantage Tech?
"Currently I am a Professional Services Recruiter specializing in Office Administration, Accounting and Finance openings. My favorite part of my role is getting to meet, and build relationships with professionals in the Kansas City area. Being able to play a role in another person's career development is an extraordinary feeling, and definitely a highpoint of being a recruiter."

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
"When I was a kid, I really loved sports and cars. I was inspired by Royals players like David DeJesus, and Jeremy Affeldt, which made me want to strive to be a professional baseball player. I also had lofty goals of being an Automotive Designer at Lamborghini."

What was your first job?
"My first job was as a waiter at Winstead's Diner in Overland Park. Which ironically is less than a block away from Advantage Tech. Best advice for those wondering.. add bacon and grilled onions to your burger next time you're there."

What energizes you at work?
"I have a few things that currently keep me energized. First, I would like to thank Celsius caffeinated beverages and Beef Jerky. Second, being a part of an amazing team. From my fellow Recruiters to our Account Executives, everyone plays a part in my success. There is something to be said about working for a family owned company and seeing our leadership in the office everyday. There is never a dull moment!"

William, Thank you for always bringing your energy to the office, your hard work, and for providing comedic relief. You have been an absolute joy to work with and we look forward to many more years with Advantage Tech and watching you grow and succeed.

Get to know our Team Tuesday!!

This week we are highlighting our very own CEO and Founder, Andrew Marquardt!

This last weekend Andrew participated in a local charity event called "Dancing with the KC Stars benefiting Cristo Rey of Kansas City." Dancing with the KC Stars has been an annual event whose proceeds benefit high school students with economic need and opens the door to private, college- and career-prep education.

We asked Andrew some questions to get to learn more about what went into preparing for the event. Read more below!

What led to you being a participant and how long ago were you asked to be involved?
"My daughter works for TIVOL, and TIVOL has been a huge supporter of the Cristo Rey school for years. They asked me to participate about 6 months ago."

How many times a week did you practice and how many hours total do you think went into your routine?
"My dancing instructor/partner and I met to practice our routine 2-3 times a week. I would say overall 40+ hours went into learning the 2 1/2 minute routine. I thought it sounded short at first, but the pros say that's what they do on TV and with anything longer people tend to lose interest. It was hard work, I was wiped out but definitely worth it."

What was your favorite part of this event?
"I enjoyed getting to be involved in something that makes a large impact on future generations. Especially for those in our community. The money raised from this event makes a difference for students and being able to be a part of that is exciting. It was fun getting to learn the once in a lifetime dance.

What would you tell others that might be asked to volunteer?
"I would encourage them to do it! It's not always easy to find the time to get involved but if given the opportunity, take it! Getting out of your comfort zone can be a good thing, and being involved and volunteering to help others around you is rewarding."

Thank you Andrew for being an inspirational leader, and constantly showing us it is okay to get out of your comfort zone. We also appreciated getting the chance to watch you showcase your dance moves!

Today we are spotlighting our coworker Rachel Paunicka!

What is your current role with ATI, and what have you loved most about being apart of the team?
"Currently I am a Technical Recruiter with my primary recruiting efforts being focused on Project Management, Business Analysis, Quality Assurance, and Development Engineers. The thing I love most about ATI is the Atmosphere; It's competitive but everyone roots for each other at the same time."

How do you prefer to start your day?
"I always like to start my day with a workout and reading 10 minutes of a personal development book."

What energizes you outside of work?
"Two opposite things actually. I really love to run. Running energizes me outside of work right now. However, I also love watching TV and doing absolutely nothing."

What is something most people don't know about you?
"I am a huge history nerd. My favorite thing to learn about is ancient cities and I could watch documentaries on that topic for hours."

Rachel, thank you for always bringing your A-game to work, and being such a fun presence in the office. We love hearing your one line zingers, and appreciate all the work you do.

"I'm a Technical Recruiter with ATI, and my favorite part so far has been getting to know everyone on the team!"

What is your favorite thing to do in Chicago?
"I really enjoy exploring all the different neighborhoods in the city. I love the west loop and trying all the restaurants there. My current obsession is brunch at La Josie!"

What motivates you at work?
"Contributing to an upbeat team environment and creating lasting relationships both professionally and personally."

Brian-
Current role with ATI and favorite part so far?
"I'm currently an Account Manager with ATI, and my favorite part so far has been connecting with others to learn more about their businesses. I love building relationships and getting to work closely with others."

What have you enjoyed most about Chicago?
"I really enjoyed celebrating St. Patrick's Day here. I've heard stories about how much fun that day is and it definitely lived up to the hype. Also, the food, I haven't had a bad meal since moving here"

What motivates you at work?
"Starting an office in a new city is very challenging, but I'm motivated by what the future holds for the company, this office, and for me personally."

Colleen-
Current role with ATI and favorite part so far?
"Currently I'm an Account Manager with ATI, focusing on Business Development. My favorite part so far has been connecting with different people on a daily basis. I have already met so many people through networking that I normally wouldn't have, so it's been really fun developing my network."

What is your favorite thing to do in Chicago?
"My favorite thing to do so far has been trying new restaurants - it's amazing (and dangerous) how many fantastic restaurants I am surrounded by. A few of my current favorites are Summer House, Etta, & Pizzeria Portofino!"

What motivates you at work?
"My coworkers! I can honestly say I wouldn't be in the position I am today without their support. They push and motivate me to be better daily! I am so lucky to be a part of such an inspiring team."

Thank you guys for taking on this new venture and for all that you do. We couldn't ask for a better team to grow and develop our Chicago branch. Excited to see the success this year brings.

How long have you been with ATI, and what has been your career progression?
"I just celebrated my 5 year anniversary with ATI in February. I started as a Technical Recruiter, then Sr. Recruiter. Most recently, I am an Account Executive for our Professional Services division. I love working at ATI because of the people - my colleagues, our incredible clients, and the hard working consultants we employ. I am blessed to be surrounded by a group of people the push me to be the best version of myself everyday."

What motivates you both professionally and personally?
"For me, my motivation both professionally and personally would be my wife and son. My wife Brittnie and I welcomed our son Re*****on in November and knowing that my success has a direct impact on both of them guides my decisions on a professional and personal level."

If you could meet any historical figure who would they be and why?
"Vivien Thomas- As a father of a child that is battling a Congenital Heart Defect (Tetralogy of Fallot), I want to shake the hand of the man who was the 1st to develop a successful open-heart surgery for infants. He did all of this while not being a medical doctor and facing racial prejudices as an African American working in a predominantly white profession. He is an inspiration and role model for generations to come.

What is your favorite Dad joke?
"I ordered a chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know..."
