This is what it’s all about for me. ❤️🇺🇸
My former recruits, brothers Luis and Jesus, stopped by to see me while they’re vacationing in Vegas. And honestly, moments like this mean more to me than any award or recognition ever could.
I love what I do, not because of the awards, the numbers, or the recognition. I love it because I get to watch young men come through my door and eventually become the men and Airmen they are today.
Seeing Luis build a career, provide stability for his family, and continue growing personally and professionally makes me proud as hell. And Jesus is out there doing his thing too, earning the 19 MXG Blue Suit Award, getting recognized for his work, and building a future he can be proud of.
Then they come back to Vegas, just to stop by and see me. That hits different.
Luis sent me this message:
“I’m truly grateful for everything the Air Force has given me. It has allowed me to provide my family with stability in every aspect of our lives, while also helping me grow mentally, financially, and professionally.
Without a doubt, joining the Air Force was the best decision I could have made.
A special recognition to the best recruiter and mentor in the entire Air Force, MSgt Obiniana! Thank you for believing in me, guiding me, and helping me become the person and Airman I am today.”
And Jesus told me how well his career has been going, how proud he is of what he’s accomplished, and how the Air Force has made him more disciplined, independent, confident, and given him direction for his future.
That’s the stuff that feeds my soul.
Knowing that I played even a small part in helping someone find their path, and then getting to watch them thrive years later… that’s the real reward.
I’m proud of y’all, brothers. Keep winning, keep growing, and keep taking care of your families.
This is what it’s about. I love this s**t. 🫡❤️🇺🇸
