Position: Food Service Worker

Summary: The Food Service Worker is responsible for preparing all food items for regular and modified diets required for retail service and for patient meal service. Adheres to safety and sanitation procedures in accordance with specified procedures. Reports malfunctioning equipment and inadequate supplies to the supervisor. Alerts supervisor to any potential threats to food safety and takes appropriate action to avoid risk to consumers and patients. This is a full time position with paid holidays, vacations, and medical benefits.

Requirements:

•High school diploma or equivalent

•Previous food service experience a plus

•Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, walk and lift up to 75 pounds with assistance

•Must be able to pass a stringent background check

Responsibilities:

•Set up cafeteria lines, steam tables, dining room tables, and side service stands with hot and cold food items

•Serve food cafeteria style by placing uniform portions of food on customers' plates

•Provide assistance to patients by placing food items on their tray and carrying tray's to patients tables

•Set up dining room tables for service

•Scrape, soak, scour, and scrub heavier cooking utensils, pots, and pans

•Perform heavy duty cleaning tasks throughout the food service and related areas such as cleaning ceilings, cleaning under and behind kitchen equipment, washing floors and walls, cleaning walk-in refrigerators and freezers

•Move heavy garbage cans when collecting and transferring trash from work area to disposal area

•Prepare sandwiches for service while handling bread knives and sandwich heating equipment, i.e. panini makers and toasters

For the second consecutive year, LPR International was pleased to work with United Communities Against Poverty, Inc. (UCAP) of MD to provide 25 Empowerment Plan coats (https://www.empowermentplan.org/the-coat) for distribution to the homeless in Prince George’s County. These coats are specifically for the homeless population who do not want to move into permanent brick and mortar accommodation. They are weather resistant and convert from a coat to a sleeping bag and can then be folded up to be worn as an over the shoulder bag. Thank you to UCAP for distributing these coats and for allowing us the opportunity to serve our community.

We had the opportunity to share our available positions and connect with amazing job seekers and members of the community.

Thank you to UMGC Commencement Services Team for organizing such a great event and thank you to our 77 temporary event staff who did such an amazing job!!!

LPR International is seeking 60 Graduation Commencement Coordinators (CGC’s) to assist our client with their commencement services from May 17 – May 22, 2022.

Responsibilities:
CGC’s will be assigned to a variety of locations and tasks throughout the graduation venue including:
• Enthusiastically greeting graduates, and their friends and families
• Answering questions and giving directions
• Assisting graduates with photographs
• Assisting graduates with a signature wall
• Performing graduate check-ins and ensure each graduate has the correct name card
• Coordinating graduates and guest lines movement
• Assist graduates with proper paperwork
• Ensuring graduates and families are in the correct place at the correct time
• Leading cheers as graduates cross the stage
• Point of contacts for various services

Requirements:
• Selected candidates must be capable of adhering to tasks but also to recognize that they will be positively representing our client to their graduates, their friends, and families and potentially prospective students.
• Must be well dressed and well presented.
• Must be friendly, outgoing, responsible, and committed to working the entire five-day event.
• Must be capable of working long hours and most likely standing the entire time. Due to COVID precautions, this will be a walk-through and not a seated event.
• Must be fully COVID vaccinated (provide proof of vaccination)
OR
• Get tested within 24 hours of the event, provide a negative test result and wear a mask at all times during the event.

Hours of Work:
• Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday – 10am – 8pm
• Saturday – 9am – 7pm
• Sunday - 10am – 8pm
