Lander Celebrates Halloween with Main Street Trick-or-Treating on October 30
The City of Lander, Lander Police Department (LPD), Lander Volunteer Fire Department (LVFD), and Fremont County Sheriff’s Office invite the community to celebrate Halloween on Friday, October 30, from 3:30–5 PM. With many local schoolchildren enjoying Main Street trick-or-treating after school, the City encourages businesses and community organizations to join the fun on Friday afternoon.
Families are invited to wear their favorite costumes and stop by South 4th and Main Street, where representatives from all four agencies will be handing out candy and trinkets.
Businesses and Community Groups Invited to Participate
Main Street businesses are encouraged to hand out treats on Friday, October 30, from 3:30–5 PM. Businesses are also welcome to participate on Saturday, October 31, if they prefer.
Groups, organizations, and businesses without a Main Street storefront are invited to set up at Centennial Park, located at 2nd and Main Street. Word of Faith Family Church will also be participating at the park.
Halloween Safety Reminders
Lander Police Chief Kelly Waugh reminds drivers and families to use extra caution throughout the Halloween weekend.
“Halloween is an exciting time for families, but it also means more pedestrians and traffic,” said Waugh. “Please slow down, watch for children crossing streets, and avoid distractions while driving.”
Chris Johnson, City of Lander Airport and Fire Department Manager, encourages families to keep safety in mind.
“Make sure costumes are visible, carry a flashlight or glow stick, and stay together while trick-or-treating,” said Johnson. “A little extra caution helps make Halloween safe and enjoyable for everyone.”
The City of Lander and its public safety partners thank local businesses and organizations for helping make Halloween a fun and safe community tradition.
