A skill is only useful if you can use it.

If you list a skill on your professional profile, be ready to discuss it, demonstrate it, or perform it under reasonable direction.

Be specific about your level of experience. “Plays guitar” is different from “advanced guitarist.” “Sports” is not as useful as naming the sport and your actual ability. The same applies to languages, trades, technology, dance, cooking, teaching, and other real-world skills.

Accurate details help an agency understand what you may bring to a project. Do not exaggerate. Your profile should represent what you can genuinely do today.

Review your skills list and remove anything you could not confidently demonstrate.

A slate is not a speed test—and it is not the time to perform a rehearsed speech.

Your slate is often the casting team’s first opportunity to see who you are outside of the character. It should feel confident, natural, and professional.

When recording your next slate:

• Follow the casting instructions exactly
• State only the information requested
• Speak clearly and at a comfortable pace
• Look directly into the camera
• Keep your body relaxed and your energy present
• Allow your natural personality to come through
• Pause briefly before moving into your scene

Avoid rushing because you are nervous, sounding overly rehearsed, adding unnecessary information, or changing your energy so much that the slate feels disconnected from your audition.

The goal is simple: clear, calm, conversational, and authentically you.

Save this post before recording your next audition—and follow I.T.S. Models & Talent for more professional audition and industry tips.

The job is not the whole agreement.

Before accepting a project, make sure you understand:

• Where the work will appear
• How long it will be used
• Which media are included
• Whether there are territory or exclusivity limits
• What compensation is tied to the work and usage

Do not rely on a verbal summary when the written terms say something different. Ask questions before you agree, and seek qualified legal advice when the rights language is unclear.

This is educational information, not legal advice.

Save this before reviewing your next project agreement.

Professional growth is easier to manage when you name the specific habit you are working on.

This week, are you focused on:

• Responding more promptly
• Keeping your materials current
• Preparing before you record
• Reading instructions more carefully
• Improving your availability updates
• Staying consistent with training

You do not need to fix every category at once. Choose one professional habit, practice it deliberately, and notice where it improves your process.

What are you strengthening this week: craft, materials, communication, or consistency?

For talent, availability is professional information: not a formality.

Keep your information specific and current, including:

• The exact dates you’re available
• Your current location and realistic travel limits
• Any schedule conflicts or commitments
• Prompt updates when circumstances change

Clear availability helps agents and production teams evaluate fit accurately and communicate with you efficiently. If your schedule, location, or travel range changes, update that information as soon as possible.

Save this and update your availability information today.

Being new to the industry is not automatically a disadvantage. Preparation matters.

For serious new faces and working actors and models ages 7–75+, we look at practical indicators of readiness, including:

• Current, accurate materials
• Realistic availability
• Professional communication
• Coachability
• A willingness to learn and follow direction

I.T.S. Models & Talent reviews submissions for fit and readiness. Every submission is evaluated individually, and submission does not guarantee representation, auditions, bookings, or results.

If you are considering professional representation, review the current submission process before reaching out.

A talent profile should be treated as a working professional tool: not a one-time folder that never changes.

Before an agency can evaluate fit or present someone for consideration, the profile needs to communicate current appearance, relevant skills, realistic availability, organized materials, and professional communication.

Those details help turn a vague introduction into a useful business conversation. The standard applies to new submissions and to represented talent maintaining their materials.

A strong profile does not guarantee representation, auditions, bookings, or results. But an unclear or outdated profile can make it harder to understand where a talent may fit.

Review one part of your professional profile today and update what is no longer current.

Regional casting requires more than a list of names. Production teams need accurate information about location, availability, skills, materials, and professional readiness.

That is where a well-maintained regional roster can reduce unnecessary friction in the early stages of a casting conversation.

I.T.S. Models & Talent serves as a bridge between developing and working talent and the professionals looking for the right fit across commercial, film, television, print, digital, and other entertainment projects.

We do not promise that every submission is right for every project. We focus on clear information and appropriate fit.

Casting professionals, producers, photographers, brands, and production teams can visit https://its-talent.net to discuss project needs.
