Tech Tip Tuesday: Closed-Loop Communication

""Say it, hear it, confirm it.""

Closed-loop communication helps prevent misunderstandings that can lead to breaks in sterility or procedural delays. When a team member gives a request or shares important information, the receiver repeats it back, and the sender confirms it is correct.

Example:

Technologist: ""Please open the 6 French sheath.""
Team member: ""Opening the 6 French sheath.""
Technologist: ""Correct.""
Why It Matters

✅ Reduces errors and miscommunication
✅ Ensures the correct supplies are opened the first time
✅ Helps maintain focus during critical moments
✅ Promotes a culture of teamwork and patient safety

🧼 Tech Tip Tuesday: Sterility Matters!

When in doubt, throw it out. If you’re unsure whether an item, surface, or part of the sterile field has been contaminated, don’t take chances—consider it contaminated and replace it.

Maintaining sterility is a team effort, and every small action helps protect our patients and support better outcomes. 💙
