My last year as a civilian I had done an outstanding job of destroying my life and everything important to me before I Enlisted. Once I had arrived to MCRD San Diego to being my basic training I knew and understood it firmly that these Marines are my family and this Corps is the house I will defend. Now thanks be to God for giving me a place to stay among The Few and The Proud. I was broke and at rock bottom my last month as a civilian before Active Duty, let the record reflect I am not in that place anymore.🙌🏼

FRANK E. PETERSEN NROTC SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY

The Frank E. Petersen Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps Scholarship is a 2-3 year scholarship available to college freshmen and sophomores. It honors the Marine Corps' first African-American aviator and general.

Between junior and senior year, a recipient will attend Officer Candidate School. Upon graduation from college, they will commission as an Officer in the United States Marine Corps.
