SL Start's employment programs provide people with developmental disabilities the skills, training and support needed to develop meaningful, fulfilling careers. And for people who are retired and desire to be more involved in their communities, Community Access may
be the right choice. INDIVIDUAL SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT
Individual Supported Employment is a customized, person-centered program designed to assist high school students and adults to find meaningful employment. With this program, individuals can develop successful, meaningful careers that provide opportunities for growth and real money. SL Start provides a complete range of employment services to help people find and keep the right job. Services include career plan development, job exploration, job-readiness training, job placement, and ongoing retention services, including on-site training and support. In addition, SL Start will arrange a meeting with a trained Social Security benefit planner to ensure that each person has all the facts about earning money and maintaining your desired benefits. COMMUNITY ACCESS
As individuals reach retirement age, or for individuals that determine competitive employment no longer fits their need, Community Access services may be a desirable option. These services are designed to enrich the lives of individuals through participation in various activities throughout the community. SERVICES FOR EMPLOYERS
Building partnerships with area employers is a key part of the success of our program. We work closely with employers to recruit and train qualified candidates that match their business needs. As part of this partnership,
