On the eve of a very important day for the people of Donegal & Mayo we stand to show our wholehearted support in very necessary 100% Redress Scheme.

We may not be directly affected by Mica but many of our family, good friends, past customers and community members are facing a heartbreaking situation. Weather directly affected or not this situation will effect our community for years ahead, as these families try to rebuild their once perfect homes. That will only possible with a full 100% scheme set up for them.

The people of Donegal stood and supported us for many years and especially within more recent times during our hours of need.

When we organise with one another, when we get involved, when we stand up and speak together, we create a power no government can suppress.

It’s important that we all stand up and speak up for our people tomorrow and create the power to get their 100% REDRESS SCHEME.

Best wishes and safe travels to all en route to Dublin.

Thomas “ the Miller “ Doherty .
This morning we said our last goodbye to a former station officer and great friend Thomas the Miller , Thomas served in buncrana fire service for twenty eight years , retiring in 1996 as station officer .
He passed away at his home after a short illness , and we would like to extend our sympathies to his family and friends at this sad time .
We are honoured and proud to have been able to attend his funeral today and provide a guard of honour with other firefighters from neighbouring stations and further , alongside other retired members of the service who served with “the miller “ .
We sounded our old siren during his funeral as a poignant reminder of the times that Thomas and his wife Bridie and family would have done from their home before the pager system alerted the fire crew to calls .
Rest in peace Thomas from your friends in buncrana fire service .

We are deeply saddened with the loss of our good friend Thomas 'The Miller' Doherty.

As many of yous may have known from Thomas's great stories, he was one of the great men who built the large hall of The Plaza Ballroom.
Thomas's humor and stories give us many happy memories throughout the years. He was always full of great support. In recent times Thomas became more of a familiar face in our lives, we truly will cherish those times we spent in his company.

We offer our deepest condolences to his close family Gabrielle, Sharon, Eddie, Michael, Marguerite and Thomas and his extended family.

A true gentleman, may he Rest In Peace❤️
