Dementia🌸 in our community is debilitating and devastating. That's where we come in. Caring for residents with this disease can be an opportunity for us to enhance their quality of life. Having the right attitude, understanding of dementia, and a qualified team ready is imperative to accomplish supporting our residents. 💙💙💙Empowered Nurses💙💙💙 (www.empowerednursesllc.org) works to build a team with strong interpersonal values first in order to support with more than just completing tasks. We want to build up your facility's brand and mission while providing quality of care not held as a personal mission to all.
Let's take an opportunity to re-educate our staff members of Dementia and how we can work TOGETHER to create a life worth living for those we are entrusted to by families.

This , we're highlighting that dementia is one of the main causes of disability for older people, ahead of cancer, cardiovascular disease and stroke. Yet despite all this, funding for dementia research is significantly lower than for these other conditions.
We know that dementia affects younger people as well; however, it affects fewer people in this age bracket - and is, therefore, not one of the main causes of disability earlier in life.
*How are people with dementia affected?*
- People may gradually lose their ability to walk, stand, or get themselves up from the chair or bed - and be more likely to fall.
- Visual difficulties can also occur because some types of dementia affect the parts of the brain that handle visual information from the eyes.
- People may develop increasing difficulties with thinking abilities, such as concentrating, planning and organising.
- In the later stages, there are more likely to be problems communicating with words - such as no speech, repetition or words not making sense.
