Meet Grace.
Grace is a Jefferson City native, a proud JCPS graduate, a lifelong Cubs fan, and a graduate of Day Solutions.
Grace attended Day Solutions from 2018 to 2023. During her time with us, she worked hard to build the skills needed for greater independence. She set goals, developed new abilities, and took meaningful steps toward her future - and Day Solutions was honored to support her along the way.
That hard work paid off.
In 2022, Grace secured employment with Special Olympics Missouri, where she has now worked successfully for three years. Most recently, she graduated from SOMO's Athlete Leadership Program with a major in Technology. Words cannot express how PROUD we are of Grace and all she has accomplished.
Grace's story is exactly why day programs matter.
Programs like Day Solutions provide individuals with developmental disabilities the time, support, and opportunities they need to strengthen cognitive, social, and employment skills. They help people discover their potential, build confidence, and achieve goals that once seemed out of reach.
Today, Grace is thriving because someone invested in her future.
The Missouri House of Representatives and Senate have recognized the importance of these services and have fully funded Day Program rates in the state budget. Now, the future of these essential services rests with Governor Mike Kehoe.
Governor Kehoe has a long and respected history of supporting Missouri's developmental disability community. Families across our state are hopeful that legacy of leadership will continue by preserving the funding that helps individuals like Grace succeed.
For thousands of Missourians with developmental disabilities -and the families who love them - these services are not optional. They are the foundation for independence, employment, community inclusion, and quality of life.
Please take a moment to respectfully contact Governor Kehoe and ask him to support the funding already approved by the legislature for Missouri's day programs.
