The energy at Happy Brew during The Flashbacks' performance last Saturday was incredible! From audience sing-alongs to standout solo performances, the group kept the crowd entertained and engaged from start to finish.

Special thanks to the family members, friends, Pine Castle staff, and board members for coming out to support the group and cheer on our performers. Also, a huge thanks to Amy and the Happy Brew crew for all their continued support for our agency and participants.

Community engagement experiences create powerful opportunities for our participants to connect, learn, and grow. Recently, our incredible partners at Guardian Pharmacy of Jacksonville opened their hearts by welcoming our participants on the Employment Pathway, encouraging them to open their minds to engage in hands-on learning experiences, and opening their facility for a behind-the-scenes tour of pharmacy operations. From sorting and labeling medications to participating in Medical Bingo, our participants gained valuable workplace skills while building meaningful relationships with the Guardian team. 💊

In honor of their annual Global Impact Day, team members from Fanatics volunteered their time and energy to support Pine Castle! From flag football, walking club, and basketball to art making and game club activities, participants had an unforgettable day building meaningful connections with the volunteers.

The generous financial contribution from Fanatics helped underwrite the day’s program elements, creating opportunities for entertainment and fun across the campus. Through these activities, participants strengthened their social skills, built confidence, and enhanced their teamwork and competitive abilities in a positive and encouraging environment.

Team members from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office and the Mental Health Resource Center recently visited our campus for a Pine Castle Experience Tour. After learning about our programs and services, the group met with program directors to gain a deeper understanding of the unique needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental differences, particularly during mental health and behavioral health crisis calls.

As interactions with the I/DD community continue to grow, we are thankful for partners who are committed to expanding their knowledge of local resources and strengthening emergency response efforts.

Today we are sending out special thanks to The Florida Ballet for generously gifting Pine Castle complimentary tickets to Coppélia, An Abbreviated Performance. Our participants and staff thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful performance and the opportunity to experience the arts together as a community. We are incredibly thankful for the Florida Ballet’s kindness and commitment to creating meaningful and unique experiences that bring joy and inspiration to our amazing participants.

Learning about self-care is an essential part of building independence, confidence, and overall well-being. At Pine Castle, our curriculum places a strong emphasis on personal hygiene and daily living skills—ensuring that participants are equipped with the tools they need to care for themselves and feel their best each day.

A recent field trip brought this lesson to life in a meaningful and engaging way. Our participants visited a local salon, where they were introduced to the experience of nail care in a welcoming and supportive environment. For many, this was more than just a manicure—it was an opportunity to practice self-care routines, learn proper nail hygiene, and understand the importance of maintaining personal grooming.

By connecting classroom learning with real-world experiences, we continue to reinforce the value of self-care in a way that is both practical and empowering. Moments like these not only teach important life skills but also remind our participants that they deserve time, care, and experiences that make them feel good inside and out.

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing friends from Bank of America and Guardian Pharmacy of Jacksonville for spending the day with us at for a Pine Castle Experience Tour and volunteer service day! From making crafts for Mother's Day while having meaningful conversations to games, basketball, Bible Club, and dancing, their team brought energy, kindness, and connection to our campus.
