The L**e Technician functions as a technician who is able to perform oil changes, tire rotations, and basic automotive maintenance.
Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards
Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair
Communicates with Parts Department to obtain required parts
Saves and tags parts for the job if under warranty, and/or if requested by the customer
Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety and/or service work is recommended or required
Immediately notifies service advisor when: additional work is needed, outlined work is not required, and/or repairs cannot be completed within time commitment to client
Documents all work performed and/or recommended on repair order
Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician
Inspects and test drives newly delivered vehicles for obvious damage and/or missing major components and drivability functions
Installs optional equipment specified by the customer or dealer
Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor
Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean
Immediately notifies service advisor of any changes in the appearance or condition of a vehicle while in the care of the service department
Maintains all dealership-owned tools and manuals; and is accountable for return to proper storage area
Maintains clean and organized work area at all times
Restocks supplies as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
Desired Attributes
High volume shop experience in a dealership or similar environment
Experience diagnosing and repairing vehicles
Experience maintaining high level of customer satisfaction
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
Perform work according to company safety standards at all times
Capable of operating manual/standard shift vehicles
Enthusiasm for the Automotive Dealership industry with a focus on customer service
Willingness to participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, and events
Committed to continuous improvement
Operate all tools and equipment in a safe manner and immediately reports safety hazards to supervisor
Dependable (punctual and consistent attendance) with reliable means of transportation
Superior internal and external customer service skills
Strong communication skills and work ethic
