Michael McGee proudly represented Work for Warriors Mississippi on Memorial Day at the Jackie Dole Sherrill Community Center in Hattiesburg as the community gathered to honor and remember our nation’s fallen heroes.

Mayor Toby Barker addressed attendees and presented yellow roses to Gold Star Families in recognition of their sacrifice and service. During the ceremony, the son of a Vietnam War casualty who was killed in action received a replacement American flag after his original flag was lost in a house fire. Mayor Barker presented the flag in a moving tribute that served as a reminder that the legacy and sacrifice of our fallen service members will never be forgotten.

Today and every day, we remember and honor those who gave everything for our freedom.

Work for Warriors MS was honored to attend the Thrive & Connect: Military Spouse Resource Fair held at the C.E. Roy Community Center in Hattiesburg, MS.

This event was created to raise awareness for military spouses and highlight the many community resources available to support them. It was a great opportunity to connect, share information, and strengthen support for our military families.

A special thank you to Mrs. (SSG) Aiyana Johnson with Columbia Southern University for the extensive planning and effort that helped make this event a success.

Work for Warriors MS is proud to support our military spouses and the important role they play in strengthening our military community.

Michael McGee had the opportunity to attend a Veterans Resource Fair in Southaven, Mississippi, where he connected with Veteran Service Organizations, DAV representatives, and other community agencies dedicated to supporting veterans and service members.

Many veterans in attendance were from Tennessee due to Southaven’s close proximity to Memphis, creating valuable opportunities to share the Work for Warriors MS mission and the services we provide. We are grateful for every opportunity to build partnerships and connect with those who have served.
