The Statler Hotel is proud to announce that Bradley Chen '21 had been promoted to Student Banquet Supervisor!

Bradley is a junior from Shanghai, China. He began his career at the Statler as a freshman in the pastry department but soon realized a passion for guest-facing service and transferred to the banquets team, joining the Hotel Leadership Development Program in the Spring of 2018. Bradley is heavily involved in Hotel Ezra Cornell and currently serves as the Beverage Director for HEC 95. This past summer, he expanded his passion for food, beverage and service as a beverage and management intern at Amali Restaurant in New York City.

As a supervisor, Bradley is looking forward to helping other students achieve their goals within the banquets department while focusing his managerial skills on the beverage aspect of the banquets department. Congratulations Bradley!

Congratulations Frances!

The Statler Hotel and Food and Beverage Team are proud to announce the promotion of Frances Tapping '20 to Student Director of Food and Beverage!

Frances, originally from Seattle, Washington, joined the Statler team shortly after arriving on campus her freshman year. As a part of the Hotel Leadership Development Program, Frances has held roles as both Student Supervisor and Student Manager in the lounge. In preparation for her role as the Student Director of Food and Beverage, she cross-trained in Taverna Banfi and in the Banquets Department to gain further exposure to the various areas of the F&B division.

This summer, Frances worked at Gurney’s Star Island Resort and Marina in Montauk, NY as a Food and Beverage Management Intern. As a new property for the company, the team worked from the ground up to re-brand a newly renovated product.

As Student Director of Food & Beverage, Frances intends to work with each department to update and improve training processes, menu engineering, and inventory.
