CSM Morris… aka Chuck Morris… aka my good friend who was ALWAYS challenging me! 😂🇺🇸

My friend, as you prepare for retirement, I want you to know that it was truly an honor and a privilege to serve alongside you.

Man, we had some long nights! I can still remember us going back and forth, digging through Army regulations, challenging each other’s interpretations, and making sure we got things right. 😂 You never made things easy for me, but looking back, that’s one of the things I appreciated most about you. You challenged me to think harder, dig deeper, and be better at what I did. That’s something I’ll always respect and never forget.

The Army brought us together as Soldiers, but the respect, friendship, and memories we built along the way will last long after the uniforms come off.

It was also an incredible feeling seeing some familiar faces again! CSM(R) Micheal Carter, 1SG Silva, MSG Beck, SFC Fontona, Mr. Crawford, and Mr. Doug — the old SoCal BN Operations crew! Man, seeing everyone again brought back so many memories. The long hours, the crazy days, the laughs, the challenges, and all the things we went through together. Those were some unforgettable times with some truly great people.

Sometimes you don’t realize how special those moments were until you look back and see the people who were standing beside you through it all.

Morris as you get ready to close this chapter of your military career, I hope you take a moment to appreciate how many lives you’ve touched and how much you’ve accomplished. You’ve earned this next chapter, my friend.

Thank you for the leadership, the friendship, the challenges, and especially the memories. I wouldn’t trade those days for anything.

Different ranks, different paths, but always one Army family. 🇺🇸

Enjoy your upcoming retirement, CSM Morris! You’ve earned it, brother. And remember, just because we’re retired doesn’t mean we can’t still argue over an Army regulation every now and then! 😂🤣

🎉 This one feels a little personal.

After serving 22 years in the Army — including time as a recruiter — I thought I already knew recruiting.

Then civilian recruiting said, 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗲. 😂

I went from asking:

🇺🇸 “Are you ready to serve your country?”

To asking:

“Are you still interested in the position?”

“Did you get my email?”

“Did you get my text?”

“Did you schedule your interview?”

And my personal favorite...
