Do you understand Mandarin Chinese? Can you help out a local Irvine family by being a translator on the weekends? Earn $12-$13 per hour while serving as a translator between a stroke patient and her rehabilitation nurses. Patient is staying in a facility near Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach; must have transportation to Newport Beach on Saturday (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM) and Sunday (8:00 AM - 1:00 PM). We have another success story! Zayyan was recently hired at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre. Here are his words of wisdom:

"The best advice I received was about the importance of following up. If I had not done that, I probably wouldn't have the job.

Yes the workshop and the job leads were very useful.

The best advice I have is that if you're dead set on getting a job, then you should never stop applying until you have a solid job that you are happy with."

Congratulations to Madenn, age 17. She was hired at Wildfire Gymnastics! Here are her comments about iYES and advice for other job seekers:

"The most important piece of advice I heard was to be confident in my skills and that I was qualified for whatever job I was applying for. I think employers can definitely sense when someone is passionate about the company and confident that they can get the job done.

The workshop was very helpful; without it, I wouldn't even have a resume. The mock interview really helps get those first-time interview jitters out. It's great to have previous experience in that setting and really helped me in my interviews.

My advice would be to always keep applying and searching for different jobs. I applied at about 20 places before I found one that offered me an actual job. You never know where you might fit in, so keep searching even if no one contacts you back."
