Because we all know that one FMCSA hiccup can cause HOURS of work to fix to get back in compliance, we are throwing this reminder out there!
FMCSA is retiring legacy registration tools on May 14, 2026 at 8:00 PM ET as it transitions to Motus, the new USDOT Registration System. Carriers should log into the FMCSA Portal now, confirm the account is active, verify the correct Company Official and Login.gov email are listed, update company/contact information, and review authorized users. After the cutoff, registration updates will be paused during the transition, and companies may need to wait for Motus to launch before making changes.
Stay up to date with your safety and compliance, and stay away from headaches by making sure you are ready to roll when this change rolls out before those old tools go dark!
🚨 3 Days to Go 🚨
FMCSA’s registration modernization is nearly here. Starting May 14, legacy registration functions in URS, the FMCSA Portal, and L&I will go offline.
What you MUST do before May 14 to ensure a smooth transition to MOTUS:
• Log into your FMCSA Portal and confirm your account is active.
• Create an account if you don’t have one (you’ll need your USDOT PIN).
• Check and update company and contact information.
• Verify authorized users are correct and active.
• Complete updates via “Biennial Update (MCS-150)” if needed.
Don't wait until the systems are offline. Prepare here:
