Job Title: Shredder Lead
Location: Plainfield, IN
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:30 AM–2:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reports To: Operations Manager
Compensation
Pay Range: $21.00–$22.00 per hour (based on experience)
Job Summary
The Shredder Lead works alongside the Shredder Crew to ensure quality standards, proper material flow, and efficient operations within the shredder area. This role assists with leading personnel while promoting a safe, clean, and organized workplace to maximize productivity and reduce safety risks.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain quality standards, equipment condition, and operator performance
Identify and report safety hazards and traffic risks
Ensure proper sorting and minimize material contamination
Review production, quality, maintenance reports, and machine data
Inspect shredder components and report maintenance needs
Monitor pedestrian and vehicle traffic; use signals as required
Maintain operator certifications and follow PPE requirements
Train, supervise, and schedule assigned team members
Support inventory accuracy, labor efficiency, and cost control
Communicate policy updates and labor-related concerns to management
Review timecards, assist with inventory counts, and complete compliance checklists
Maintain housekeeping standards and report improvement ideas
Adhere to all safety, compliance, and certification standards
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED preferred
2–4 years relevant experience; 1–2 years supervisory experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical job duties safely
Dependable, detail-oriented, and professional attitude
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
Must pass pre-employment drug screening
Warehouse environment with exposure to dust, noise, and machinery
Constant sitting with occasional repetitive hand use, bending, lifting, and reaching
