A lot of educators get summer jobs while school is not in session. Keep these in mind during your search for a temporary position!
Be honest about what you are looking for. Only need work for a few months? Lead with that! Tell them you are more than happy to work during school breaks, and can be a reoccurring temporary employee!
Do not slack on the interview. Even though the job is not your main career, you still need to be engaged, ask questions, and put your best foot forward.
Do not be scared to try new things. You tell your students they can do anything they want in life, and so can you! There is nothing wrong with common summer jobs like retail, food service, and pop up babysitters, but think about your passion and try to find something you enjoy! Maybe you love traveling, so a seasonal vacation planner position is great for you. Or are you always at the fields with your kids and love seeing kids have fun? Apply to work at batting cages and keep yourself active during the summer.
We hope you are enjoying Summer Break, no matter how you choose to spend it!
