Job Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor for 2nd shift to lead production and quality teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Decatur, Alabama. This role is critical to daily operations and long-term company growth. The ideal candidate is a strong leader who values safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for driving operational success by:
Promoting and maintaining a safety-first, quality-driven culture
Supervising production and quality staff to ensure consistent, efficient output
Motivating, coaching, and supporting employees while setting clear productivity goals per shift
Providing training, performance feedback, and addressing performance concerns
Identifying process improvements, implementing new technologies, and optimizing workflows
Quickly identifying and resolving production issues to minimize downtime
Maintaining a visible leadership presence on the production floor
Managing production schedules to ensure on-time delivery
Ensuring proper staffing levels while complying with employment practices
Resolving conflicts to ensure continuous operations
Supporting company-wide continuous improvement and growth initiatives
Leading by example with strong knowledge of company policies and procedures
Collaborating with Maintenance, CSR, and other departments
Communicating regularly with the Plant Manager regarding production challenges
Coordinating preventive and reactive maintenance activities
Qualifications & Skills
Strong organizational skills with a team-oriented mindset
Self-starter with initiative and strong multitasking ability
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Strong work ethic with reliable attendance
Ability to work under pressure while remaining calm and focused
Solid understanding of OSHA regulations and workplace safety requirements
Education & Experience
3–5 years of manufacturing or production experience
1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role
Ability to read and interpret work orders and production schedules
Knowledge of quality and safety standards (ISO, OSHA)
Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends
Physical Requirements
Ability to work 40+ hours per week
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to climb ladders, squat, kneel, and stand for extended periods
Comfortable working in unconditioned or physically demanding environments
