Safety Tip of the Week: Ladder Safety 🚧
Ladders are essential tools on many job sites, but improper use can lead to serious injuries. OSHA Standard 1910.23 outlines key requirements for ladder safety to ensure workers stay protected.
🔹 Key Ladder Safety Measures:
✔️ Inspect ladders before use—look for damage, loose steps, or missing rungs
✔️ Use the right ladder for the job—never exceed weight limits
✔️ Maintain three points of contact (two hands & one foot or two feet & one hand)
✔️ Set up ladders on stable, level ground—avoid slippery surfaces
✔️ Keep ladders free of obstructions—no tools or materials on steps
✔️ Secure extension ladders and ensure they extend at least 3 feet above the landing
🔹 Why It Matters:
✅ Reduces falls, a leading cause of workplace injuries
✅ Ensures compliance with OSHA safety standards
✅ Promotes a safer, more productive work environment
At NR Staffing and Recruiting, safety always comes first. If you see an unsafe ladder or improper use, speak up! Safety starts with you! 💪🚧
