The information profession is evolving—and so are the career opportunities within it.

We're excited to see Tina Gibeson, PhD, CRM, IGP, representing Access Sciences at the ASIS&T 2026 Information Science Summit & Special Libraries Conference focused on how librarians and archivists can expand into records management and information governance roles.

The discussion will explore transferable skills, emerging career paths, and how information professionals can position themselves to lead in an increasingly digital and AI-enabled environment.

Some Portland Rose Festival-inspired fun from across Access Sciences 🌹

Team members from Portland, Houston, and Baton Rouge submitted float contest designs that were brought to life in a video featuring a simulated parade route, bringing plenty of creativity (and a little friendly competition) to the celebration.

Congratulations to our winners and a special thanks to all who entered.

AI readiness starts with information integrity.

Many organizations are accelerating AI adoption without first addressing the condition of their information ecosystem.

Disconnected systems, inconsistent data, weak governance, and siloed content limit AI performance and increase operational, legal, and reputational risk.

Access Sciences builds the foundation AI depends on. We assess data quality and infrastructure, establish governance frameworks, define high-value use cases, and prepare your workforce for adoption. The result is a durable, scalable information environment that enables AI to deliver measurable ROI.

AI is not just a tool deployment. It is an operational transformation.

Make sure your foundation is ready:

Great discussion at the recent Construction Industry Institute (CII) Controls & Risk Community for Business Advancement meeting.

Yasser Marcos presented on “Bridging the Gap Between Project Controls and Risk Management,” exploring how better collaboration, shared data, and integrated workflows can improve project outcomes and reduce operational friction.

One topic that sparked strong conversation: while AI can support forecasting and planning, human judgment remains essential when managing complex projects and risk.

The presentation was so well received that Yasser was invited to continue the discussion during a June roundtable session and again at the CII Annual Research Conference in July.

Congratulations, Yasser, on the continued thought leadership and industry engagement.

Big congratulations to Denzel Wilson 👏

He recently earned his AI Policy Clinic Certificate from the Center for AI and Digital Policy, a rigorous program focused on AI policy, ethics, and governance.

The experience involved analyzing real-world legislation and working with peers from around the globe, bringing valuable perspective to how organizations approach AI responsibly.

Project controls and risk management are often treated as separate functions. But that disconnect comes at a cost: delayed decisions, inaccurate forecasts, and missed opportunities.

On May 15, Yasser Marcos will join the Construction Industry Institute (CII) Communities for Business Advancement to discuss how bridging that gap can drive better project outcomes.

“Bridging the Gap Between Project Controls and Risk Management”

His session will explore how integrating these functions enables a more proactive approach to decision-making, connecting current performance with future risk to improve predictability, reduce cost exposure, and strengthen project delivery.

Great conversations and strong engagement at this year’s AI+IM Global Summit in Baltimore.

Tina Gibeson, Joey Smith, and Denzel Wilson led the workshop “AI, But Make it Useful,” where attendees explored practical AI use cases, governance considerations, and what organizations need in place before AI can scale successfully.

One message came through clearly throughout the event: successful AI starts with strong foundations.

Thanks to AIIM, the speakers, and everyone who shared insights throughout the summit.
