Opportunity:
We are currently seeking candidates for Chemical Operator position at our Manufacturing Site in Pasadena TX. The candidate shall be reporting to supervisors and be responsible for safely and efficiently operating batch processes, and material handling that includes loading/unloading of trucks and packaging of drums, totes, bags and super sacks.
- Pay: $20.00 hr starting
- Work Schedule: Rotating Shift 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM (I Shift) and 2:00 PM to 12:30 AM (II Shift). Candidate switches shift every two weeks and receives $.50 pay differential for II Shift.

Essential job functions:
- Performing routine operation of basic control systems and devices to monitor levels, temperatures, pressures and flow rates and transfer of products also controlled by DCS.
- Lift hoses, bolt flanges and operate valves and similar equipment including the proper clearing and isolation of equipment.
- Report any safety issues immediately to supervisor and if necessary, take appropriate action needed, including system shutdown, if unsafe work practice is witnessed to prevent injury or environmental release.
- Monitor assigned area continually for proper equipment operation and product quality.
- Ensure safe and efficient performance of production and project work following standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Maintain work area in clean and orderly manner, observe all company safety regulations and work rules.
- Take ownership for the accurate completion of all assigned tasks.
- Accountable for completing all in process reports and documents associated with job tasks and responsibilities accurately and completely during shift operations.
- Perform prescribed QC sampling of raw materials, in process material and/or finished products.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of chemical industry experience
- Associates in Process technology degree with 2 years of any manufacturing experience will also be considered.
- Good math and mechanical aptitude.
- Strong work ethic. Independently motivated to produce results.
- Must have strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills.
- Ability to work in an empowered team environment, including the ability to effectively communicate, share information, resolve issues, give and receive both positive and negative feedback in a respectful and professional manner.
- Ability to reach all work areas in the plant (i.e. climb ladders, negotiate catwalks, handle heights to 50 feet, etc.), to lift twist and turn up to 50 lb.
- Due to safety sensitive nature of job, must pass regular & routine chemical dependency testing, annual respirator fit testing, and annual physical as required for certain tasks.
- Prior chemical experience preferred.
- Fork truck driver experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to move about the facility, squat, reach, pull lift, and use hands and fingers and other fine motor tasks.
- Must be able to speak, write, and understand English.
