Replacement Nylon Rollers:
Replacement Steel Rollers:
Replacement Spring Pulley:

This chain-drive garage door was squeaking and clattering at ~71 dB. I walk through a quick tune-up: lubricating hinges and rollers (not the tracks!), inspecting rollers for bearing play, and replacing a failed top pulley whose bearing was shot. I also show where to add white grease to the opener chain, plus cleanup tips to avoid drips on the floor.

After the service, noise dropped to ~64 dB. If your door still jerks or screams after l**e, check pulleys and rollers—one failing part can make the whole system loud.

⚠️ Safety first: disconnect power to the opener when hands are near moving parts, keep clear of the torsion spring system, and don’t grease the tracks—clean them instead.

Tell me your results and noise readings in the comments!

Got outlets recessed behind tile or backsplash? In this video I show two quick, code-friendly ways to bring them flush: box extensions (¼", ⅜", ½"—stackable) with longer 2" machine screws, and shimming the device with either classic stackable spacers or the new Unishim washers. I walk through mounting, spacing the yoke, and fine-tuning so your wall plate sits flat. We also cover pro tips (don’t overcut tile, align screw slots, and test for power before you start). The final result: safe, solid, and clean.

Old home, no ground, two-prong outlets—now what? In this video I show why you should not install a standard 3-prong receptacle on an ungrounded circuit, and the safe alternative: a GFCI receptacle wired on LINE only. We cover how GFCI protects by sensing imbalance (no equipment ground required), when to use “No Equipment Ground” and “GFCI Protected” labels, and common pitfalls (bootleg grounds, using adapters, or misusing the LOAD terminals). I also show basic testing and what to do downstream. Always kill power, verify with a tester, and follow local code.

EcoFlow Delta 2:

Today we’re testing the Predator Portable Power Station (2000 Series) — a 1500Wh battery unit I picked up from Harbor Freight for about $950. I ran it through real-world loads: lighting circuits, refrigerator cycling, and standard household equipment. On paper it’s comparable to popular units from EcoFlow, Bluetti, and Anker — but in practice, the value doesn’t line up.

For the same money (or less), you can get an EcoFlow Delta 2, which charges faster, delivers stronger sustained output, and integrates better with solar. Meanwhile, Predator inverter generators do offer strong value compared to Honda units — but this Predator portable power station doesn’t follow that pricing logic.

If you’re considering backup power, RV power, food truck setups, job sites, or home outages, I’d recommend comparing performance and price carefully — and I’ll show you why in this breakdown.
