30 resort attendants needed for temporary, full-time employment. Resort attendants will perform a variety
of attendant duties to carry out ski resort operations and to ensure guest satisfaction. Attendant duties
include: operate ski lifts; assist guests with getting on and off ski lifts safely; operate snowmaking machines;
tend tubing park booth and assist guests with tubing; tend ice skating rink booth and assist guests with ice
skate rentals; assist guests with parking at the resort; assist with keeping resort grounds, facilities, and
equipment clean and presentable; provide information and assistance for resort guests in connection with
resort's recreation offerings; and other similar, related tasks as needed. No minimum education is required.
No prior experience is required. Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds. Employer may require workers to be
tested for COVID-19 prior to start of work and throughout the work period. If required, COVID-19 tests
will be paid for by employer. Employer will offer at least 40 hours of work per week. Exact work schedules
will vary depending on attendant assignments and shifts. Assignment shifts begin at 7:00 AM, 9:00 AM, or
12:00 PM, and end at 5:00 PM, 7:00 PM, or 10:00 PM. Resort operates 7 days a week. Workers are needed
October 1, 2020 through April 15, 2021. Work will be performed at worksites in Sugar Mountain, North
Carolina. Workers will be paid no less than $10.40 per hour. Overtime hours may be available and will be
paid at the overtime wage rate of $15.60 per hour. Employer will provide on-the-job training in the proper
use and maintenance of employer's equipment and facilities as needed. Employer will use a single workweek
as its standard for computing wages due. Workers will be paid weekly by check and may elect for direct
deposit. Employer will offer assistance to workers in locating and securing adequate lodging for the
employment period. Workers are not required to accept employer's assistance in securing lodging. The cost
of such lodging will vary and will be borne by the worker. Employer will deduct the reasonable cost of such
lodging from weekly paycheck for workers who elect to make use of employer-provided lodging. Employer
will make all deductions from the worker's paycheck as required by law. If the worker completes 50 percent
of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from
the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is
dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker's reasonable costs of return transportation
and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker
will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has
appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation
payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the
distances involved. Daily meals will be provided at a rate of at least $12.68 per day during travel to a
maximum of $55.00 per with receipts. Workers are responsible for daily transportation to worksite location
in Sugar Mountain, North Carolina. Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa
processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except
passport fees). The employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to
perform the job. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the
