These are trying times for everyone and in the U.S alone, over 2,000,000 people are expected to file for unemployment this week. More layoffs are expected in the food service, airline, travel and hospitality industries; however, here are some companies hiring right now and the number of job openings.

1. Walmart: 150,000 job openings

2. Target: 9,000 job openings

3. Amazon: 100,000 job openings

4. Domino's Pizza: 10,000 job openings

5. Kroger: 10,000 job openings

6. Pepsi: 6,000 job openings

7. CVS: 50,000 job openings

8. Discount Drug Mart: 250 job openings

9. Dollar General: 50,000 job openings.

How To Work From Home Effectively

A lot of employers are asking employees to work from home due to the Coronavirus. For some employees, this might be a strange new experience. As someone who often works from home, here are some tips to help:

1. Follow your usual morning routine to help boost your daily productivity. Do the things you would normally do like praying, exercising and fixing your morning breakfast.

2. Set a daily work schedule for yourself and stick to it. Know when to stop working so that you can spend time with your family.

3. Find a quiet room that you can setup as a temporary office.

4. Ask a family member or babysitter to help watch your kids while you are working.

5. Let your colleagues know your work hours or setup auto replies so that you can maintain work life balance.

6. Explore other indoor hobbies or consider working on some things you never had time to do like job hunting, reading a book or getting a certification.

7. Listen to your favourite song or watch your favorite movie.

8. Most importantly, use this opportunity to reconnect and spend time with your family. Make good memories.
