Our client a trusted provider of industrial turbine services, specializing in the repair, refurbishment, and precision machining of steam and gas turbine components. Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our clients operations team in Houston, TX. This role is responsible for operating manual machines such as lathes, mills, and grinders to produce or repair precision turbine components to exact specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience in a job shop or turbine service environment and be comfortable working with tight tolerances and custom one-off parts.

Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate manual machines (engine lathe, vertical/horizontal mills, surface grinders, etc.) to machine turbine components including rotors, diaphragms, valves, and casings.

Read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, and work instructions to determine machining operations and tolerances.

Select and install appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds based on material and specifications.

Measure and inspect machined parts using precision tools such as micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and calipers to ensure conformance to specifications.

Perform threading, boring, facing, and other custom machining tasks as required.

Collaborate with engineering and shop teams to ensure machining processes are accurate and efficient.

Follow all safety protocols, wear appropriate PPE, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Perform routine maintenance and inspections on machines to ensure proper function.

Assist with fabrication and repair tasks as needed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Qualifications
Required:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Manual Machinist in a precision job shop, power generation, or turbine repair setting.

Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

Solid knowledge of speeds, feeds, and tooling for various metals (carbon steel, stainless, alloys).

Experience with close-tolerance machining (+/- .001").

Proficient in the use of measuring tools and equipment.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed to support customer deadlines.

Preferred:

Experience in machining steam or gas turbine components.

Familiarity with rebuild/repair procedures for rotating equipment.

Position Overview:

1 Resource Group is currently seeking an experienced OD/ID Grinder to join our client’s teamon the Southeast side of Houston, TX . The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating manual Outside Diameter (OD) and Inside Diameter (ID) grinding machines to produce precision cylindrical parts within tight tolerances. You must have hands-on experience with manual grinding equipment and be proficient in using measuring instruments to ensure parts meet exact specifications.

This is a skilled position that requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a production or repair environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate manual OD/ID grinders, such as Norton and Churchill machines.

Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications.

Measure, examine, and test completed parts using micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators.

Grind parts to tolerances as tight as ±.0002”.

Perform machine setup, including selecting wheels, balancing, and dressing.

Dial in parts using indicators to ensure proper alignment.

Handle and machine parts up to 16” OD and 10–20 feet in length.

Use overhead cranes and forklifts safely to position heavy workpieces.

Maintain accurate documentation of work performed.

Follow company safety procedures and ensure clean work areas.

Qualifications:

5+ years of experience in OD/ID grinding on manual machines.

Proficient in reading blueprints and using precision measuring tools.

Must be able to independently set up and run jobs to close tolerances.

Strong knowledge of shop mathematics and mechanical principles.

Ability to operate overhead crane (1 ton) and drive a forklift.

High School Diploma or GED required; trade school or technical training a plus.

Strong commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

1 Resource Group is currently looking for an Extruder Operator for Manufacturing Plant in Baytown, TX. The Extruder Operator is responsible for the operation of the online extruder(s), Twin Screw Extruders, operation of quality testing equipment, the making of blends, set up of feed for the lines and finished product packaging and storage.

The Extruder Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining extrusion lines to manufacture high-quality polymer-based products according to specifications. This role ensures the continuous and efficient operation of extrusion machinery while meeting quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate single and twin-screw extruders to produce masterbatch products.
Set up and adjust machines according to job specifications (temperatures, feed rates, die tooling).
Monitor production runs, making real-time adjustments to maintain quality and throughput.
Conduct visual and physical inspections of finished products for color, consistency, and defects.
Complete batch production records, material usage reports, and downtime logs.
Ensure proper blending and feeding of raw materials into extruders.
Perform routine maintenance and minor troubleshooting of equipment.
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work area.
Collaborate with Quality and Maintenance teams to resolve issues and optimize output.
Report equipment or process abnormalities immediately to supervisors.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
1–3 years of experience in extrusion or plastics manufacturing preferred.
Familiarity with extrusion machinery and polymer processing is a plus.
Ability to read and interpret production orders, work instructions, and measurement tools.
Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or rotating shifts if required.
