Will I get college paid for while I am in, or can I only use the GI Bill after 4 years?

If I try to go to college while I am in, and there is a scheduling conflict between work and school, what happens?

Can you match the National Guards free tuition to any SUNY, State, or community college and the reservist GI Bill that I don’t have to wait 4 years to use?

JOBS IN THE NY ARMY NATIONAL GUARD YOU DIDN’T KNOW EXISTED AND SALARY.

Non-combat related positions that all come with educational incentives, college credits, and directly correspond with civilian careers. Soldiers are partnered up with civilian organizations that actively hire military members and their families.

Human Resources
- Currently offers a $20,000 bonus for qualifying applicants.
- Manages the administrative welfare of Soldiers.
- Compatible with civilian careers in:
Recruitment, Law, Business, Career Counseling

Public Affairs
- Manages the voice and image of the Army National Guard and provides the community with information.
- Compatible with civilian careers in:
Graphic design, photography, journalism

Finance
- Manages Military accounting and budgeting
- Compatible with civilian careers in:
Business, Law, Accounting, Investments

Paralegal
-Provides legal and administrative support to Soldiers and their families
- Compatible with civilian careers in:
Law, Business, Government, Criminal Justice

Religious Affairs
- Provides religious and counseling support for Soldiers and their families
- Compatible with civilian careers in:
Clergy work, Counseling, Religious Operations

Service is part time with full time benefits.

Average Salary of a newly enlisted Soldier:
$250 - One weekend a month Drill
$850 - Summer 2 week Drill
$1,840 - Monthly Active Duty training
