Army Supply, Logistics, & Support – 92 series jobs
Are you interested in Logistics? Check out the Army’s logistics & support personnel. I’ve grouped them together to make it easier to read and see the relationships between the jobs.
• 92Y – Unit Supply Specialist
• 92A – Automated Logistical Specialist
• 92W – Water Purification Specialist
• 92S – Shower & Laundry Specialist
• 92G – Culinary Specialist
• 92F – Petroleum Supply Specialist
• 92L – Petroleum Laboratory Specialist
• 92R – Parachute Rigger
92Y – Every unit in the Army has a supply clerk. Receives, Issues, & turns in equipment & supplies.
92A – Warehouse clerk. This is where the supply clerk goes to pick up and drop off materials.
92W – Runs water purification equipment to make potable water (“potable” = drinkable)
92S – Runs a laundry & sewing shop and does maintenance on the Army’s portable shower trailers (little bit of pumps & plumbing work)
92G – Every unit in the Army has cooks, from the smallest unit in the Army up to the Chief of Staff. Wide variety of assignments with opportunities to advance your culinary education and career.
92F – Fueler. Runs a fuel truck like a mobile gas station for ground vehicles and aircraft. Also operates fuel farms and handles lubricants (oils & greases).
92L – Petroleum tester, similar to blackstone testing. Tests samples from vehicles & aircraft for maintenance purposes, also tests fuel from farms & fuel trucks to check for particulates and contaminants.
92R – Packs parachutes. Same as a rigger does on the civilian side. Only assigned to aviation, airborne, and air assault units. You won’t be in the infantry, but you’ll be packing their chutes and assigned to the same units as they are.
ELIGIBIITY REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of GED, High School Diploma preferred
- Must pass a physical
- Must pass a background check (no felonies)
- Must pass the ASVAB
- Military Enlistment (2-6 years)

OPTIONS:
92G, 92L, 92S jobs are eligible for the Army’s ACASP program if you already have documented experience or certification in those fields. ACASP enables you to enlist in the Army with a 3-rank promotion and skip AIT since you’re already trained the job the Army needs you for. Ask your recruiter about the ACASP program.
