Manpower is currently seeking a Manager of Operations for our client in the Vance, AL area.
Job Description:
Lead and manage a business unit within the Vance, Alabama area. Oversee all functional areas of the operation, customer relations, including materials, production, quality, training, administrative, budget, and compliance. Ensure that all KPIs are met coupled with continuous improvement iniatives.
Major Responsibilities:
· Manage one of the Business Unit in Vance, AL to achieve outstanding levels of customer service in relation to delivery performance, lead times, and shipping and Inventory accuracy.
· Provides leadership which will insure that business unit activities are focused on meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
· Lead and support colleagues in the attainment of goals through the application of value based leadership.
· Supports an environment of clear, concise, and complete communication across all functional areas of the business unit.
· Lead and support activities that result in business plans that support the attainment of long term goals
· Develop quality systems that ensure product quality is outstanding and that ensure projected ISO 9001/ 14001 compliance.
· Continually drive down operating costs, eliminate waste and non-value added activities. Minimize scrap and rework.
· Continually evaluate and improve staffing, methods, materials and processes to improve productivity and throughput.
· Develop an involved, participative culture with a strong performance orientation. Maintain a safe, clean, orderly, non-union facility.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in business, operations, or engineering required. MBA is a plus.
· Minimum 7 – 10 years’ experience with at least in operational logistics, manufacturing management, or Supply Chain Management. .
· Experience should have managed a minimum total of 50 employees
· Strong financial skills with cost reduction history
· Experienced facility manager with P&L responsibility
· Experienced in leading successful employee involvement efforts.
· Strong background in pro-active union avoidance and other industrial relations issues highly desirable.
· Should be thoroughly knowledgeable with a variety of management concepts, such as MRPII, JIT, Six Sigma, Kanban, Theory of Constraints, WMS, Toyota Production Systems, SAP, etc.
· Experience in bringing new products into full production is a plus.
· PC application literacy required.
· Clean record of continuing education through seminars, and/or coursework required.
