Huge congratulations to Colin Smith and Pierce Bailey — our two newest Soldiers in the Alabama Army National Guard!

Colin enlisted as a 92S Shower/Laundry & Clothing Specialist and locked in a $20,000 enlistment bonus. He’s already on the path to a strong career foundation, gaining job skills and benefits that will serve him for years to come.

Pierce enlisted as a 31B Military Police, all while finishing his senior year at Baldwin County High School. He’s stepping up early, showing leadership and discipline beyond his age and setting himself up for a future full of opportunities.

A special shoutout to SSG Don Farris and SSG Kyle Word for their help getting these two squared away and across the finish line. Teamwork like that is what makes the Guard family so strong.

We’re extremely proud of Colin and Pierce for making the commitment to serve their state and country. With education benefits, part-time pay, and career training, they’re already building the kind of future most people only talk about.

A little about me —

I’m originally from Daphne, AL and joined the Army National Guard when I was 18 as a 12T Technical Engineer. I’ve been proudly serving for almost 4 years now. The Guard gave me a purpose, direction, and a whole lot of opportunities I didn’t even know were possible back then.

Now, I’ve volunteered to be a recruiter because I want to help others the same way the Guard helped me. Whether you’re looking for school benefits, job training, or just a fresh start — I’m here to talk it through with you.

When I’m not working, you’ll probably find me fishing, hiking, or running around on the airsoft field.

Right now, I’m working with Team 3, covering Birmingham and Shelby County, but anyone from anywhere is welcome to reach out. I’m always happy to answer questions or just talk about what the Guard can do for you.
