The best time to deal with a facility problem? Before it becomes one.

Routine cleaning does more than keep a building looking good. Consistent care can help protect flooring and surfaces, maintain a professional environment, and prevent small issues from turning into bigger ones.

Through Sustainable Cleaning Systems, we work with organizations to provide dependable facility services that keep their spaces ready for the people who use them every day.

Our latest blog explores why a proactive approach to cleaning pays off over time.

Getting hired is exciting, but it's not the finish line.

A successful job placement starts long before someone's first day and continues well after it. It takes getting to know the job seeker, understanding an employer's needs, finding the right fit, preparing for the role, and providing support as the employee grows.

When employers and job coaches work together, everyone has someone in their corner.

We're sharing a closer look at what goes into creating job placements designed to last.

What do people actually remember about a great workplace?

Usually, it's not a big program or initiative. It's how people treated them.

A supervisor who took the time to explain something. A coworker who made them feel welcome. Clear expectations. Encouragement after learning something new.

Those everyday moments shape workplace culture more than we sometimes realize.

Our latest blog looks at the small things employers and teams can do to create a workplace where people feel respected, valued, and ready to contribute.

No one does this work alone.

Behind every new job, new skill, and milestone is a whole network of people helping make it possible. Job coaches, employers, families, community partners, board members, donors, and, most importantly, the individuals putting in the work every day.

In honor of National Nonprofit Day, we're taking a moment to recognize the people behind TVW's mission and the many ways our community helps open doors to employment and greater independence.

Our latest blog shares more about the people who make this work possible.

As part of ongoing Job Development services, a workplace exploration tour was arranged at MOD Pizza in Cornelius with Brandon, the restaurant manager. The purpose of this activity was to provide the participant with direct exposure to a real work environment, increase vocational awareness, and strengthen engagement in the employment process.

During the tour, Brandon explained the restaurant’s workflow from beginning to end, including food storage and organization, sanitation procedures, kitchen safety, use of commercial equipment, pizza preparation, proper handling of pizzas in ovens exceeding 500°F, packaging procedures, and order preparation for customers. Safety practices and quality standards were emphasized throughout the tour.

The participant remained engaged during the visit, asked several questions about the job duties and pizza preparation process, and demonstrated genuine interest in learning about the position and workplace expectations.

Brandon indicated that he will keep the participant in mind should an appropriate employment opportunity become available in the future.

Following the visit, the participant shared that he really enjoyed the experience and commented that Brandon was “very nice.” Experiences like this play an important role in Job Development by increasing participant motivation, promoting engagement with the employment process, and helping build familiarity and confidence in competitive, integrated work environments.

Could your workplace be someone’s next opportunity? By opening your doors for a workplace tour, job shadow, or conversation, you can help someone explore their interests, build confidence, and take another step toward employment.
