Adult Program eligibility is based on public assistance receipt or income and family size. Persons receiving Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Food Stamps or other types of public assistance can qualify for the Adult Program. Entry into the program can also occur if the family’s income is below levels posted by the U.S. Department of Labor. It is re
commended that you submit a complete application and make an appointment with a NWDB TES to verify your eligibility. - See more at: http://www.nwdbworks.org/job-seekers/adult-programs/ .gs5aVDiL.dpuf
Individuals who are eligible according to WIA guidelines and who are unable to obtain work through Intensive Services may be recommended for NWDB Training scholarships to improve their skills for future job search. Training scholarships may be limited by federal funding allocations. Scholarships are generally provided for a period of two years or less. Training scholarships are only awarded if an individual is enrolled by an approved training provider that is on the NC STARs system and that has been approved by the NWDB. In addition, On-the-Job Training opportunities will be considered as a training option. The NWDB TES will assist the Job Seeker (you) with developing a Training and Employment Plan with a schedule of necessary activities to successfully complete his/her training program.
