Share your hometown Americana photos for National Newspaper Week! 🇺🇸 PNA is inviting members to submit Americana-themed community photos captured by your staff for possible use in this year’s National Newspaper Week print and digital advertising campaign.

Built around the message “Trusted News. Stronger Communities.” and the tagline “Local journalism is woven into the fabric of our communities,” this year’s campaign will celebrate the hometown moments that connect Pennsylvanians — from parades and county fairs to children waving flags and community celebrations.

With Memorial Day just behind us and Fourth of July celebrations approaching, now is the perfect time to capture meaningful images that reflect the spirit of local America and the important role local journalism plays in documenting community life across Pennsylvania.

Members are encouraged to begin identifying and submitting high-resolution photos for consideration.

Send them to [email protected] today.

PNA Director of Marketing and Membership Jane Hungarter and Director of Government Affairs Jan Murphy recently met with PNA member Bucks County Beacon owner and publisher Emily Smith to learn more about the organization’s mission and community impact.

The Bucks County Beacon focuses on strengthening communities, increasing civic engagement and empowering residents to make informed decisions.

Through resources such as its local voter guide, the organization works to promote public awareness while also highlighting the people who live and work in the community by publishing diverse local writers and activists.

The news media organization is also participating in the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association Foundation’s Center for Journalism Excellence student internship program, which helps connect aspiring journalists with Pennsylvania news organizations.
